Today we are off to shoot Chris & Cheryl’s wedding at The Ivy Room. It’s one of our favorite places and we can hardly believe the amazing weather Chicago is having this weekend. It’s just perfect.

Before I go any further though, I have to mention that Cheryl and Chris just finished up a the Soldier Field 10 mile run this morning in celebration of their wedding day. Talk about inspiration. These two are so passionate. When I asked Cheryl to describe what an average day is like for her, one thing that stood out is that she runs to and from work with her backpack full of her work clothes. That is the only way she can fit exercise into her busy schedule right now. I love this girl and Chris is a perfect match for her. Here are a few pictures from their engagement session last week at University of Chicago. Congrats on your race Cheryl and Chris! We can’t wait to party with you guys tonight!

Tomorrow we will be waking up early hop in the car and drive 6 hours to Leonard, MI for Jill and Nick’s wedding. It’s going to be a whirlwind of a weekend so let the fun begin! We will be back in the office on Tuesday to return emails and phone calls. Enjoy the holiday everyone!

From Union Station’s Corinthian Columns to Navy Pier’s Ferris Wheel, these two melted my heart. They were completely themselves in front of the camera making it obvious just how much they love each other. It seemed like every shot we took was perfect and full of energy. We shared lots of laughs, popcorn, and stories together while making our way around the White City.

One story that sticks out in my mind is about Katie. She works in a V.A. hospital and cherishes her patients. In fact, they are what she loves most about her job. Recently she lost one of her longest and most favorite as he just couldn’t fight the battle anymore. He had known since January that Katie would be getting married this month and knew there was a chance he wouldn’t be here so he had is wife buy her a gift and wrap it up as beautifully as she could. He told her to make sure Katie received it a few weeks before her wedding. And so, 2 weeks ago, Katie received this beautifully wrapped gift from a man who wanted to congratulate her and let her know exactly how much he appreciated all she did for him. He truly cared for her because she truly cared for him. It is easy for me to see why David wants to spend the rest of his life with Katie. She is sweet and genuine and beautiful and the two of them together are like peas and carrots. They adore each other. They make me smile.

The kind of friends that we can go forever without seeing and still know that we have been dancing the same dance and singing the same song all along. They are full of energy and share a passion for life and their family and friends. They encourage us and make us laugh. We are so happy they are married now and their wedding will be one of 2009′s best highlights for us. Kathy did an amazing job of planning and decorating. The purple and green details helped make the outdoor winter wedding burst with color and vibrance. It was such a beautiful moment when Kathy stepped onto the aisle in her amazing dress and veil to see Carlos waiting for her beyond the crowd. In that moment, the chill in the air  faded away and all that mattered was the incredible love that these two share. A kind of love that was made to last forever. The morning ceremony and reception took place in Mesquite, TX just outside of Dallas. Afterward we headed downtown with the wedding party for a rockin’ little photoshoot. Kathy’s smile never went away the whole day and Carlos couldn’t stop telling her how much he loved the way she looked in her dress. We had such a fantastic time and we wish the two of you all the best!
